Soloist Spotlight: Marc Bouchkov to Perform at Eurasian Stars 2025
Acclaimed Belgian violinist Marc Bouchkov will make his much-anticipated debut at the Eurasian Stars International Music Festival 2025, bringing his richly expressive artistry and impeccable technique to the heart of Central Asia. Widely recognized for his versatility and depth, Bouchkov’s participation promises to be a major highlight of the festival’s seventh edition.
The Eurasian Stars International Music Festival is proud to welcome one of Europe’s most captivating violinists, Marc Bouchkov, to its 2025 lineup. Taking place from September 22 to October 3, the festival will feature Bouchkov at major venues including the Palace of International Forums and the Turkistan Concert Hall. His performances will mark an exciting addition to the festival’s tradition of presenting globally celebrated soloists.
Celebrated for his multifaceted musicianship and commanding stage presence, Bouchkov has built a distinguished international career performing with leading orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra. His collaborations with renowned conductors including Christoph Eschenbach, Philippe Jordan, Lorenzo Viotti, and Valery Gergiev have established him as a dynamic and sought-after soloist on the world stage.
Bouchkov's recent seasons have included standout performances with the Brussels Philharmonic, Hessische Rundfunk Orchestra, and the Verbier Festival Orchestra. He has captivated audiences at prestigious festivals and halls—from Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and Milan’s La Scala to the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Tsinandali Festival in Georgia—where he performed a diverse repertoire including Brahms’ Double Concerto alongside cellist Mischa Maisky.
His 2023/24 season has seen him as artist-in-residence with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, where he performed concertos by Korngold, Stravinsky, and Brahms under the batons of Lorenzo Viotti, Ryan Bancroft, and Hannu Lintu. At the 2023 Verbier Festival, he presented the full cycle of Beethoven’s sonatas for violin and piano in collaboration with pianist Mao Fujita—further demonstrating the breadth and sophistication of his musical voice.
Bouchkov’s debut album on Harmonia Mundi—featuring world premiere works by Eugène Ysaÿe and his own compositions—received the Diapason d’Or, Diapason Découverte, and was nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA). Gramophone Magazine praised his distinctive artistry, calling him “One to Watch.”
Born into a family of violinists and trained by legendary pedagogues including Boris Garlitsky and Mihaela Martin, Bouchkov’s artistic journey has been shaped by a strong foundation and visionary mentorship. He is a laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition and winner of the Montreal International Violin Competition. Today, he serves on the faculty at the Conservatoire Royale de Liège and the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein.
