Nikita Boriso-Glebsky Brings Virtuoso Violin Performance to Eurasian Stars 2026

The 2026 Eurasian Stars International Music Festival continued its celebration of international musical excellence on Friday 16th October, welcoming acclaimed violinist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky to the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre for the sixth concert of this latest edition.

Appearing alongside the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, under the direction of Mexican conductor Rodrigo Sámano Albarrán, the distinguished soloist presented a programme combining contemporary concerto writing with one of the most powerful symphonic masterpieces of the Romantic era.

The evening began with Alexey Shor's Violin Concerto No. 7, a contemporary three-movement composition that thoroughly explores the expressive and virtuosic possibilities of the violin. Following the interval, the orchestra returned for Tchaikovsky's magnificent Symphony No. 4 in F minor, a towering work of the Russian Romantic repertoire that is famous for its dramatic opening, rich melodies, and exhilarating finale, exploring contrasts between struggle, introspection, and triumph.

Commenting on the concert, Eurasian Stars Artistic Director Alibek Kabdurakhmanov praised the musicians and the breadth of the festival's programme. "It is always a pleasure to welcome an artist of Nikita's calibre to Eurasian Stars, and his performance was a wonderful addition to this year's programme. The combination of Alexey Shor's concerto and Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony provided a particularly exciting musical journey, while Maestro Sámano brought his own distinctive energy to the orchestra. I am truly delighted with the artistic level we have been able to present throughout the festival."

The concert formed part of the nine-performance programme of Eurasian Stars 2026, which has brought leading international soloists and conductors to Tashkent for ten days of classical music.

With three concerts remaining, the festival will continue at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Grand Theatre until 19th October, with further appearances by Edgar Moreau, Haik Kazazyan, Alexander Ramm, Philipp Kopachevsky, and other distinguished musicians.
