The State Conservatory of Uzbekistan (Great Hall)

The State Conservatory of Uzbekistan is rightfully considered the oldest higher musical educational establishment in Central Asia. it was organized in 1936 and for many years it was the only musical establishment in this territory. The history of the conservatory is rich and meaningful.
For a long period, the Conservatory was the only institution of its kind in Central Asia, training highly qualified music specialists for institutions throughout the region. Its graduates have made notable contributions to leading musical theaters across neighboring Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
In 2002, a new building was constructed on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov. The chief architect of this project was V. Spivak, with contributions from architects A. Kalislomov and R. Shokirov, and artists O. Khabibulin, V. Gan, and R. Khudoyberganov. The new building spans a total area of 35,180 square meters and includes 305 auditoriums, 4 concert halls, 4 recording studios, gyms, and additional facilities.
